About the Beach

The village of Yachats is noted for its rugged, rocky coastline, where you can sit for hours gazing at the crashing surf and then, at low tide, explore the rocks and tidepools.  There are even two spouting horns, oceanside geysers that shoot columns of seawater high in the air at certain phases of the tide!  (Homes #1, 3, 6, 8, 9, 14, and 18)

About a mile north of the village begins a 7-mile stretch of pristine sandy beach leading the way to Waldport.  The beach is irresistible to kids of all ages, and ideal for uninterrupted strolling sunbathing, and beachcombing. (Homes #4, 5, 11, 12, 15, 17 and 20)

South of the bridge, Ocean Road Wayside provides access to the shores of Yachats Bay, a wide sandy beach where the Yachats River meets the sea.  This popular spot features public picnic tables and barbecue pits for family fun. (Near Homes #2, 7, 16, 19, 21 and #22). Houses 2 and 21 are direct ocean front with dramatic rocks below.
