| Few vacation destinations in the Pacific Northwest can equal the unique appeal of the Central Oregon Coast, and those who have discovered Yachats return year after year. From lush forests and the majesty of Cape Perpetua (the highest point on the Oregon Coast and visible from most of our rentals), to the sheer drama of the Pacific Ocean at your doorstep, enjoy a holiday like no other. Whatever your pleasure - shopping, fine dining, fishing, clamming, crabbing, hiking in the rain forest, unparalleled beachcombing or just well deserved relaxation - you can savor it all in Yachats. And there is no better way to experience the serenity of our small village than to establish yourself in the comfort and convenience of your own private "home away from home"; one of our well-appointed vacation rentals. Large or small, whatever your needs, one of our vacation homes will enhance your stay at the Gem of the Oregon Coast. Yachats (pronounced ya-hots), in popular Indian lore, means
"waters at the foot of the mountain" - our village is in fact at the mouth of
the Yachats River, in view of Cape Perpetua. From Yachats, you can travel
within a 25-mile radius and visit: the Cape Perpetua Viewpoint from which you
can see up to 35 miles to the horizon, the Cape Perpetua Visitor Center,
featuring a movie depicting the forces of nature and how it shapes our
coastline; Devil's Churn, a smoldering chasm of white water and thunderous
waves; four distinctive lighthouses (including one that is privately owned);
Old Town and insect catching pitcher plants in Florence; the Bayfront in
Newport which has many fine seafood restaurants, an "undersea garden" and many
other recreational sites; the Hatfield Marine Science Center; the newest (and
some say the most beautiful) bridge on the Oregon Coast; the Sea Lion Caves,
where hundreds of sea lions live all year long; the historic 804 Trail, a
dramatic 3/4 mile walk along the oceans' edge; two covered bridges; many day
use parks and much, much more. Yachats is on the Central Oregon Coast and
central to everything. We have many vacation homes to choose from. Some things you should know about our all our homes:
